Sagrada

Sagrada was founded with the idea of connecting the visual with the narrative, the seeable with the tellable, the photographed with the written. Photography serves at its best as a form of visual literature, poetry, or documentary: it serves, in a sense, to tell stories. Born in the summer of 2020, Sagrada is a quarterly publication exploring visual storytelling through analog photography and the people behind it - with a mission to bridge the gap between the visual and narrative creative worlds.

The fact that our language is the language of light is what amazes me most. We are made of the same matter as the rest of the universe, and our eyes are able to see only what that certain spectrum of light allows them to see. What is photography if not another way of seeing?
— Amanda Monasterio, Sagrada Issue No. 2

I’ve never looked for hope in just one place – I think it depends on which phase of my life I’m in, and especially what the source of the challenges are. But usually, art is the one thing that saves me.
— Pedro Barcellos, Sagrada Issue No. 2
